New Homes for neighbourhoods

Next Project

This project was set in the Scottish countryside in a coastal location, giving us the opportunity to look into an autonomous, self-sufficient house design. We recommended that the plentiful local timber was used as its main source of heat, sheep's wool insulation supplied by the farmer-client be used to keep the heat in, stone gabion walling and locally-sourced larch timber framing be used as the structure and double-height spaces and glazing be used to make the user feel more integrated with the landscape. The report shown here teels the detailed story of how the design was built up - click on any of the images for a more detailed view.
